Lazy Day

This is the first time I have had a lazy day in which I had no control over (for the most part). This weekend I went to Clemson to play in a volleyball tournament. On Friday night, I got to enjoy some time with friends at a bbq, and then hit up some Japanese to celebrate my girl Sarah White's birthday. Saturday, I played some volleyball all day and then cheered on the Cougars against Clemson in some basketball. Front row baby! Sunday is where the lazy day comes in. So here comes a long story:
My friend and I had all of our bags packed and by the door of the room we were staying in by 7:45 AM. We walked down the hall to do a quick restroom break in preparation for our long drive. When we walked back to the room, the door was locked. Yes, we locked ourselves out. Without shoes, keys, money, phones, clothes (we were in our pajamas), or any of our possessions... The two girls that lived in the room we were staying in were both out of town. So we spent two hours talking to the supervisors of the dorm trying to get in to at least get a phone and some money, but under no circumstance would they let us in without one of the roommates present. We then found out that one of the roommates would be getting back at 5:30 PM!! So we had to wait for about 9 hours in Clemson. Without phones, money, shoes, or anything. We luckily had my car keys, so we drove to the Ridge (apartments) and found some friends we could hang out with. We sat in their apartment for about 8 hours- thank you Lord for patient and gracious friends! We watched maybe 6 episodes of friends and a bad Christmas movie, and hit the road finally at 6 PM!
This day was completely unexpected, very frustrating, and amazingly relaxing. Separated from phones and all the possessions but the clothes on our backs and a car, I was humbled. I realized the value I take in the things I own, and the Lord had a plan with yesterday's trials, as He always does.
